When I went to their web site and started listeneing to their clips I thought they sounded pretty good (it reminds me of a heavy goo-goo dolls).The CD has a good quality, and would fit in with the rock being played onthe radio today. Then I dug a little deeper, and these guys are young and hungry. When I asked them for their motto they replied, "Spread the word, The Better World is coming through!" This supercharged attitude comes through alot. When I asked them about their favorite gig they replied, " Every gig is a great gig, especially when the crowd gets into it...Selling 50 cd's in a night would make a gig a great gig! We've been lucky we don't really have a "Worst gig".

The band started when vocalist/guitarist Matt Coban began the process of recruiting new musicians to form what is now The Better World. When Matt met guitarist Justin Miskowski in the spring of 1998, everything fell into place. On that day, a new sound was invented. Matt and Justin immediately connected with each other and began writing music. They formed an unbreakable bond which would soon go way beyond their friendship. Sharing the same views on life and music itself, they vowed to never give up on each other; nonetheless their music.

Both with 8 years of experience in guitar playing, the two combined their skills to reach out to others by helping people relate to their music. In the winter of 2002, two new members joined the band to complete the search for new band mates. Drummer Jimmy Wooten and bassist Dan Grossberg are putting forth the hard effort that is needed for this band to succeed. With their years of experience and great taste in music, the songs are sounding more complete. Losing band mates, experiencing a death of a loved one, and facing the realities of life, hasn't seemed to get in this bands way. Nothing seems to drift the band away from their main objective; writing great music. It turns out that all those days of not fitting in at school, and being put down for what they believe in, finally paid off.

The summer of 2002 was the official independent release of the bands self-titled debut album, "The Better World", which is now available at www.cdbaby.com, www.amazon.com, and www.mp3.com. TBW is booking as many shows as possible and is now securing radio time on College radio stations all over the US as well as hitting the airwaves in Germany and Australia. As www.TheBetterWorld.com is continually gaining exposure throughout the internet, the band is working on new material and will soon post show dates on the website.
