Mission:
To create a music community where musicians of all genre's can come together
and exchange ideas on music, marketing, in an effort to mentor each other
so we can avoid each other's mistakes.
To provide tools and resources for musicians to promote their band, their music, their web site. To help bands be more efficient, and successful, in an environment where egos are non existent.
Q: What's a Cyber Cooler?
A: People usually gather around the water cooler to catch up with each
other in different businesses. Thanks to the magic of the Internet, we
are able to globally communicate with each other. Hence a cyber cooler.

A: Absolutely? If two heads are better than one than 600 must be fantastic?
While all things are subject to review, I am pretty flexible. The only

Q: How often does it come out?
A: We publish a weekly newsletter that comes out on Monday.
Q: Does it cost anything to join?
A: Nope. (But donations are deeply appreciated).
Q: What type of topics do you talk about?
A: We focus on communication (band arguments), marketing (CD, gigs, etc.),
cool Internet sites, the music business, and tips for those who are building
their own sites. If it's music related, send

Q: What's with the "Jammin Dave" URL?
A: It's an old nickname of the moderator (Dave Jackson). I worked in a
grocery store when I was 16. I had an hour for lunch and would get bored.
I started bringing my guitar to work, and would play on my lunch in the
break room, and in the warehouse. A co-worker started calling me "Jammin
Dave Jackson." I originally started this site to promote a CD I was
recording. It has since shifted focus to the Cooler.
Q: How long have you been around?
A: This site started in March of 2002 as a site for my CD,
and in researching where to sell my CD, I started networking and sharing
insights with different people. As my CD wasn't finished, I started posting
articles and ideas. Little did I know it would grow so quickly (had I
known I would've registered a better URL, and come up with a catchier
name - ha).
Q: How are you getting the word out?
A: I work an hour a day surfing the Internet for bands, message boards,
resources, etc. When I see band I invite them to join. I promote trading
links alot. I was amazed that we had 10,000 visitors our first 8 months.
Dave's Bio
Born 2/8/1965 Dave Jackson picked up his first guitar when he was 5.
His fingers were too small, so he had to put it down. Over the years he
tried again, and again, but kept encountering hurtles (he was left-handed
at the time). When he was 12 He picked it up, switched hands, and hasn't
put it down since.
As the youngest of his family, Dave listened to the music of his older
brother and sister (The Beatles, Monkeys, etc.). When Hendrix died, Dave
was the only kid in his elementary school that probably knew about it.
Dave played his first gig in a band called "Direct Drive" (named
after a type of turntable) when he was 15. During his Jr/Sr high school
years the guitar players in Heavy Metal mesmerized him. These included
Angus Young (AC/DC), Randy Rhoads (Ozzy), George Lynch (Dokken), Yngwie
Malmsteen, Michael Schenker (UFO), and Ted Nugent. Not only did Dave learn
every Nugent lick note for note, but he also adopted Ted's drug free lifestyle.
Dave was in numerous Metal bands including Assault, and Denyer.
After high school Dave attended a state college. While getting his degree, he also got heavily into computers, and writing (acting as the Editor of the Student Newsletter for two years, and a writer for four). It was here Dave learned how to work with a team. Upon graduating Dave has worked as a computer training specialist, as well as other areas specializing in training and communications.
In 1995 Dave joined a country band called "Six Shooter". The
new style of country (boogie with a twang) gave Dave a chance to explore
a new style of guitar playing. When Six Shooter folded up camp in 1997,
Dave knew he wanted to be in a Blues based group.
In 1998 Dave joined forces with Bobby Jackson to form "The Sugar
Daddies." This band is a blues and R&B group that Dave still
plays in today (in addition to side projects such a Rock/Blues band called
"Beyond Blue").
Dave's passion for guitar has lead him into many different styles. He
plays regularly at his church, he enjoys his time with the Sugar Daddies,
and in June of 2002, he went back to his metal roots released his first
"solo" CD Recess on Independent
records.
In addition to recording music, Dave has also used his skills as an instructor
to publish music related items. His book "How
to Get Your Band Out of the Basement (And Keep them out of the Asylum)"
helps both new musicians and veterans through tips and entertaining stories.
